I like the direction of the top variation. Although, there is too much text on the poster. Also, the "A" is way too big. I would recommend making it smaller, and playing more with the title text.
Also, try making the background more subtle in fading. I think it could fade back farther and still look nice.

I love the poster with the multicolor children. Play with the way they're aligned because at the moment they seem tipsy.
